Is there any way of checking the timing chain?

I had my chain break earlier this year, don't know why, but all fixed under warranty thankfully. I've now done about 4k miles since then and was wondering if there was a relatively straightforward way to check that the chain, tensioners etc were all ok, with the engine in situ.

When mine was replaced, Andy at APM got me to bring it back after 1000 miles just to check the tension.
