Yesterday my house was broken into and the spare set of keys for the Chimaera was taken amounst everything else.

I remeber someone saying you can reprogram the alarm if you have one key fob still ???

Does anyone know how to do this or can point me in the right direction ???

Carl TVRUK is on his honeymoon i belive, before eveyone points me in that direction

Removed the ECU at the moment.

Many Thanks

Chris

If its the standard TVR alarm your local dealer must know how to do it?

Horrible experience, I feel for you. I hope they catch the scrotes.

So sorry to hear that. What a nightmare - hope your insurance is going to cover you properly.

My advice is simply to wait for Carl to return. It really isn't that easy unless you really know the systems and he has some software that does the job well. Also has spare fobs etc. He really is the most specialised and knowledgable guy I've met when it comes to TVR ancillaries - especially alarms/remote locking etc.

Sorry to hear that - not a nice situation. Happened to us whilst we were sleeping but they took both cars whilst they were at it too....

Hope you get it sorted,

Andy

Try ringing abacuscaralarms.co.uk, they're based in London but they are a meta dealer and the guy seems to know a lot about the m99 which most Chims have. I'm just about to replace mine and will be buying one from him (though installing it myself).

Copy of my message on the TVRCC forum, but please don't just leave it and do nothing...

"I'm afraid I can't help with the TVR bit, but I know in Bristol there has been a spate of break in's around Clifton where they have taken amongst other things, the spare car keys.

A lot of victims don't realise they have gone as they are too worried about the TV, DVD etc, but the thieves have been back to take the car a few days later. (it's happened to a colleague, so not an urban myth type scare story I'm afraid)

Please act quickly before they come back looking for the car. Buying a wheel clamp would at least stop them taking it, but they might damage it in frustration.

If you can't sort the alarm, then I would seriously consider re-housing the car until it can be done.

Sorry to sound a bit alarmist (pardon the pun) but you've already had enough bad luck and to be forwarned is forearmed and all that."

Hope you get it sorted

U can try Telcam Security at www.telcam.co.uk (ref. John), based in Ealing, London. They are alarmingly good for most alarms...what a plug!

Nightmare Chris - sorry to hear about this. As someone else said - removing the ECU - genius! If you could hide the car for a while, that would be a really good idea.....I'd hate to think of them causing damage because they couldn't drive it away.......

Chris,

Just seen this thread, have you got it sorted yet?

If not what type of alarm is it? If it's a Meta I have the instructions somewhere at home, I'll try and dig them out and PM them to you this evening.

Neil.

Chris,

YHM, sorry it took so long the trains we screwed up Thursday night and by the time I got home I had nothing but food on my mind.
