For me Wayne Rainey, after reading his book and what he went through with his injury, i've got so much admiration and respect for him as a rider and a person......I would have thought if he (Rainey) was there would make sense to have Reving Kevin Schwantz at the table as well!

Fortunate enough to have metin passing:

Sheene--Kyalami 83 & 84. Mate mooned Steph !
Heuwen==Goldfields. We prepped an FZ750 for him
Mamola==83 Kyalami testing
Roberts==RZ500 Launch 83
Lawson==Kyalami 83. I had a Yamaha shop
Rainey==Le Mans 95. Mate was Harada's motorhome driver.
Schwantz==Le Mans 95
Uncini==Kyalami 82 raced against him on 4 stroke superbikes invitation event

Would love to have had dinner with Lawson & Schwantz though as it would have given more insight than a fleeting meet

Met Ago and Bazza at Goodwood FofS, so yeah, for me it would have to be the late Steve McQueen and the very recently deceased, Bud Ekins.

Sheene obviously. Next it would be Toseland, that lad makes you proud to be English.

Hang on.. Fogarty, Whitham, Renyolds, Rutter.

the other week i was fortunate enough to attend the david jefferies memorial dinner/awards night and at our particualr table was john mcguiness, karl harris, guy martin, steve brogan and the table behind had hodgson, toseland, tom sykes, and others, but best of all for me was sitting and talking (and drinking, lots) with mcguiness, for a guy that went and set a 130mph lap of the island and was at his former best mates memorial he was more than happy to sit down and chat, and he got the drinks in on several occasions......

since i started to work for honda racing i must say i have met most of my childhood/current idols but 2 stand out for me who are not with us,

so if i could have dinner with someone id have to be greedy and have a table, with joey dunlop, dj, mcguiness, hislop, schwantz, rainey, sheene and kiyo.....

STEVE McQUEEN!
Apart from 'that film', he was in real life a proper speed merchant.
Had 200 bikes when he died. Did the ISDT (now ISDE), motocross, enduro etc.
Liked his cars too - a true petrolhead. And not forgetting 'On Any Sunday'. If you only ever watch 1 bike film, make sure it's this. Classic.
