I absolutely love my M3 exhaust note when I start it off from cold first thing in the morning.

Its *almost* as menancing as my neighbours TVR Cebra (think its a 1998 4.2). However once the M3 warms up, the menancing growl of the exhaust at lower revs dies away - so unless you tonk it it doesn't sound as special as it drives.

Is there anything I can do to the exhaust system to keep the noise at TVR like levels on lower revs?

Thanks for your help.

An induction kit may give you the noise you are after

Has anybody else done this (i.e. used an inductor kit) ? Where you impressed with the results ? How much did it cost? Does it also affect fuel consumption?

Sorry for the list of qs - but having to type in quickly before the boss gets back !!

I've stuck a K&N Typhoon on mine and must say I like the noise - it gets loader the more miles you rack up too. Costs approx £220 but despite the claims I doubt there is ANY performance gains, just a nice bit of noise between 3k-6k RPM.
