Anyone know anything about these? what are they worth?

What sort of power do they produce?

We've been offered one for the Tuscan (straight swap - ours is up for 16,250k) is this worth it?

The car is completely standard and the bloke's said it's one of 2 in the UK?

Thank for help.
Dan

I'm assuming if it's a genuine tommy kaira it's a 25R?
in which case it'll be one based on an R34 GTT, not a GTR obviously. With that comes the 2.5 single turbo RB25DET NEO engine and rear wheel drive, and the option of a tiptronic type box or a manual. Which box TK used I'm not sure.

is it this one per chance?http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s230/demandchainguy/DSC_0203.jpg

If so I believe newera sourced it, which means it'll have been a fine example as all their imports I've seen are. Obviously depends how the new owners treated it.

The exterior styling is obviously different to a standard GTT, not really to my tastes but there we go, different bumpers, grille, wheels and so on. Interior wise it gets some different clocks and dials, TK bucket seats, and I believe they're 300bhp as standard, so a fairly mild increase.

Price wise I wouldn't like to guess, personally I wouldn't pay that much for one, for starters skyline prices are on their arse at the minute thanks to a wealth of imports being brought over and flooding the market, supply definately outweighs demand at the minute. If it's a newera car chances are the original ad will still be on their website somewhere.
Your best bet is to fire miguel at newera imports an email, he's a freindly guy and always willing to help, and if it is the 25R he sourced I'm sure he'll fill you in on the details.
They're certainly quite rare cars, and were quite a lot more than a standard GTT when new from TK.

If genuine I think you are talking 530hp roughly.
Very special cars and very rare.

There is a history section on their site, all Japanese though.

£16k is a bargain for any R34 GTR in good condition. I would be wary, R33 GTR's dont often go that cheap.

yes it's the 25R, based on the GTT

It's not the car pistured above. It's white, with aftermarket white wheels, but it's not chavvy ones (i'll get a pic' in a sec)

Owner says it's immaculate! non-chavved, and says it should be around 400bhp? can' find anything about them on the web really.

Anything else anyone?

Think I've seen the car you're talking about.

This one then? biggrin

thread here http://www.skylineowners.com/forum/showthread.php?...

Looks a decent car, with sensible mods, though I'd still say it's perhaps a tad overpriced, not sure how much flexibility you allowed yourself in your tuscan's price but if it wasn't much I'd probably want a couple of grand on top to take the R34. They were a pricey limited edition as new, but like most limited editions (GTR LM etc) they're really not worth much more than normal. Does it still have the tommy kaira wheels as spares or anything? They're quite rare and I'd expect them to fetch good money.
Link says it's been to RK Tuning for maintenance work, they're a highly competent skyline tuner, so it's in good hands in terms of who has looked at it.
I'd say his guesstimate of 400bhp would be about right, perhaps a touch more depending on the specs of the hybrid turbo. I know of 3 others, aside of the two I've found today, so I'd say there's at least 5 in the country, so pretty rare.

If it is the white one in the pic above I'd be wondering why he's wanting rid of it so soon, from the thread it looks like he's had it less than a month.

16k buys you a hell of a lot of skyline these days.

400hp sounds feasible those are similar mods to my 33 GTS , there are better cars around for that money though unless you are a die hard TK fan.

Looks a lot of money for essentially a modified GTT. Very nice cars and great fun at circa 400bhp but I think I would want cash my way.

Looking at your ad I'd say it's fairly priced, seems a lot of car for the money, truth be told I'm half tempted by a tuscan myself. The skyline for sure is a lot of car and I'm sure it won't hang around, but I wouldn't do a direct swap in a month of sundays to be honest. Besides, there's a pleantiful supply of GTT's around anyway, if it was (hypothetically) what was wanted next, you could sell the tuscan and buy a nice one for somewhere around the 10k mark. I very nearly did but went the GTR route as I've always preferred 33's.

I've never seen the tommy kaira cars, well skylines in particular, as being particularly desirable personally.

Stu - Keep the 33, she's lovely!

The Tuscan is a very, very, very, very (can go on forever) nice car, if looked after is pretty much an extremely reliable car, no problems for us so far (TOUCH WOOD)
If you do go Tuscan hunting, make sure you do a hell of alot of research, and you have good eyes!

To be honest, I'm torn as to whether to keep it or not. It's a lovely car and has had a fortune spent in getting it near perfect condition wise lately, but I really fancy getting shot and having a blast of TVR ownership before they start getting to long in the tooth. I've done Jap cars for best part of 7 years now. Hard decision as I'd be gutted to get rid of the GTR to be honest. It also means I'd be in the position to have another 4x4 for some greenlaning and daily driving, which is something I miss.

you have a bloody good car, and you must have spent alot of moeny on the respray alone!!!!!

Keep it another year, TVR prices will no doubt plummet, and you may b able to get a sag! (fingers crossed)

Just keep it, or i'll give you a tenner?

tenner and a tuscan and you'll tempt me wink Respray was all house of colour stuff at a bloody good, but far from cheap bodyshop, so it was a fair few grand. smile
As for a Sag, tempting but I've always wanted a cerbie, chim or tuscan to be honest.
