BMW sat nav experts?

I have a TomTom .ITN file that I'd like to transfer into my BMW sat nav. I have the Professional Nav system with iDrive. Is it possible, and how do I do it?

I've seen a Google + BMW trailer where someone transferred a route from Google maps into the BMW nav, so perhaps an intermediate step of opening the TomTom .ITN file in Google maps?
