325 manifold advice again
Discussion
Well i have just purchased a 2.5 manifold and spoke to the BMW spares bloke who i purchased it off and asked whether it is a straight swap for my 2.8/2.0 manifold and he said he doesn't think so.
My question is (because i thought it was a straight swap) what else am i goin to need or do?
The manifold doesn't arrive here until tuesday but i want to be prapared so i can swap it over straight away.
So if anyone else has done this mod, what am i expected to buy or adjust?
Thanks in advance
Dave

As I understand it, it's a ton of work...
Various holes need to be drilled/machined for new hoses on the M52 engine, and an adaptor plate has to be made as the M50/M52 throttle bodies are different.
I'm not totally sure of what needs doing though. The E36coupe.com forum has a chap on it who makes kits. I've seen numerous threads where someone has tried it themself and eventally wished they'd paid the money and got a simple bolt on kit. It's tough to say how good these guys are with the spanners though. If you have machine tools and are a competent mechanically minded guy then it may be worth a shot and saving some cash.
Let me know what happens, I have a 328 and I'm thinking about doing that too.

It's possible to fit the 325 manifold using bits of hose and elbows, there's a couple of yank sites that walk you through it. I went so far as to collect all the bits to do this myself but it looked such a lash up that I decided to p/ex my 325 manifold for a properly converted one, the manifold and fittings that Alpina 527 (Ian) on the e36coupe website supplies is a much nicer way to do it.
