Brakes - which ones and where from?
Discussion
Some of you may have seen it on ebay, well I bought it. A Fisher Fury, hardly started project.
Always wanted to build a kit car, so took the plunge. Consequently I'm going to be a bit unsure about a few things and this is the first thing.
Braking.
I want to build the car for track use mainly and occasional road use.
The Kit has come with what I believe are escort front discs and calipers and Sierra rear drums (not positively sure on the drums).
I want to go discs all round.
From reading various sites on brakes, I'm thinking that HiSpec or Wilwood are a good choice.
Where would be the best place to get all the components from and does anyone do an exchange basis sale on the ones I'm taking off.
Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.
Cheers

I have a Fisher Fury with a blade engine, i have gone for Hi-Spec 4 pots on the front with un-vented discs off an escort if I can remember, the rears are granada 2 pots with escort discs the same as the front. You can get the Hi-spec calipers from the Hi-Spec website just search in google. The rest of the parts can be purchased from any good parts outlet, my front calipers cost £300+ and the rears were £150 for the pair but well worth it.
Hope it helps

Hi tommy welcome to Furyblade land.
I am told Willwoods are good up front.
A lot of people use drums at the rear cos theres so little weight you don't need discs - drums are lighter than discs and calipers too hence why quite a few RGB racers still use em.
Mine has M16 calipers and turbogoove vented discs up front with drums on the rear and feels overbraked if anything!
Had mine back at Oulton on Saturday and the engine is now running perfect - had my exhuast rebuilt and changed all the consumables - it was an absolute hoot couldn't believe how well it goes now.
You wont miss the Porsche once you get that thing on track mate.
