Today, i actually succeeded in doing 10 laps of the Arc de Triomphe 'roundabout'

OK, the last few laps were done because no git would let me off of the thing, but anyway, it was on a bicycle and was a pretty damn freaky thing to do!
eek

(They are mad around there, the lot of 'em!)

Indeed it was, one of those you can rent for an hour, or a day, dotted about the capital.
(Brilliant idea, btw).

Went round that in the 355 a few years ago. Was one of the scariest places ive ever driven. (apart from Cairo). Was so scared that someone was gonna bang against me.

Been around there with several cars, including BG. I love stuff like that, doesn't bother me at all, duck & dive, brake and accelerate, in here, out there, lean on the horn. Just the same in Rome last year, your not actually allowed right in the centre, but I took BG in amongst it all, did a few laps of the Colloseum. Taxi!

It's no wonder cars are not actually insured on the Arc 'madabout'!

Cairo, well yes, Will, you're not wrong there.

The place is full of half-wrecked 1970s cars, with no insurance and people driving too quickly in the wrong places when i was last there-1996 admittedly.

In Egypt Sharm-el-sheikh the roads are like that.. gear sticks on the stearing wheel and no windows.. they just about managed a seat. scarey people when you start playing taxi's against each other and they are liturally almost fighting over you and people trying to pull you over.

Plus it doesn't help that the roads have no propper bends or turn off's it's all U turns to get onto another road. so to turn left you have to go further up the road do a U turn onto oncomming traffic (2 lanes but 3-4 cars in a row comming down) pipping their horns randomly. No wonder i got the sheets!!

I last drove there in 98, and I have an amusing home video of me driving some retarded fiat and being unable to stop. And i finish about two metres away from one of the unknown pyramids that are just outside Cairo. Oh how we laughed till the gaurd came around with his big gun.
