Lucky,
If it's orkney, I spend quite a lot of time at the council there and they have two distilleries.
Scapa which was mothballed for quite a few years, but recently bought up by the bigger one called Highland Park.
I toured Scapa while it was mothballed curticy of the resident caretaker and didn't come out till I was totally plastered!
Don't let them flog a bottle of what looks like an old one to you...always sample first...some are brilliant, some are rubbish regardess of age!
I know! my liver was forceably educated by my hosts 12 times a year!!!!!!!!

Hopefully, you'll be off to Islay, where there are some of the finest distilleries in Scotland, although it is down to one's own taste. If so, give my regards to Laphroaig, Lagavulin and Bunnahabhain, not forgetting Bruichladdich, Ardbeg, Caol Ila, Bowmore and Port Ellen. There is obviously only a certain amount one can do to occupy your time on a hebridean island when there are no roads big enough for a Hinkley special, so whisky was invented, followed by water and paracetamol. If you remember anything when you get back let us know how it went.
Phew, made it.
Islay it was. Still not too sure about whisky. Funny stuff.
Beautiful island though, lovely people. You have to wave at everyone you pass on the road, how sweet is that!?
Drove up in a Land Cruiser Invincible - top motor for this sort of ting.
Right, must go, Gatwick now. Big Apple for a week. Bye

I think this is ok, providing Lucky is going to the States to bring back lots of car parts. I wanted a few from Summit racing but the shipping/handling charges are mad, ended up getting most of them from an ebay shop with better shipping costs. Perhaps he can redeem himself by taking orders!
