Preventing corrosion

The house I'm renting is right on the sea front and my poor little car gets all the abuse straight from the sea, along with the salty roads at this time of year.

How best can I look after it in these conditions? Ive already had the bottom of an oil filter rust through, despite it being serviced according to the schedule.

Don't want to sound negative, but the only thing you can do is move.....

We used to live on the English coast years ago, and the local people new never to buy cars from the coastal towns. Anti-corrosion is better on new cars than it was then, but the corrosive seaside atmosphere is never going to be good for any car, regardless of age.

I'm here for another year, there's already corrosion visiable on the aircon pipes, most nuts and in the engine bay!

Better start saving for that S2000 as soon as I get back to Yorkshire

best thing do do is get it undersealed & paint the bits that are bare metal with underseal, this will stop most of it.
