Scott,
You might try the GTM forum (www.ffcobra.com) as they are selling quite a few kits now and guys need a shifter that will work with the CMS side shifter, but don't want to spend a lot of $ on the CMS unit. Besides, in a GTM the shifter gets hidden down inside the trans tunnel (even though there's no trans in there). I'll probably sell mine as I've bought the CMS unit and have the Renegade unit on the shelf now. My bet is you can get $500 for it without cables. The only other option for CMS side shifters is the new CMS unit which is a lot more $. The Brandwood shifter (according to Roger @ CMS) won't work with the CMS side shifter.
I won't be selling mine for a few weeks as I have a friend that is building a GTM and he may want it instead of me selling it to the FFR forum members.

I hope that the CMS shifter will fit between the seats. It looks like there will be no chance for flex.
Another option for the CMS side shifter is to get a shifter from a Lotus elise or exige. These are narrow and have enough travel for the transaxle. There is no pattern in any of the cable shifters, they are an open gimble.

well that new version in those pics looks like it uses the short shifter internals which are around £70 off ebay (all new with bushes etc) and then just ally brackets to replace the plastic porsche casting..... So not sure what benefit it gives over brand new porsche stuff especially as it will definaatelly be heavier, unless of cause its cheap?
IMO the 2nd hand shifter in the above pics is worth about £20....

Thanks, Paul. I wlll definitely give them a shout if I decide to offer it for sale.GTRCLIVE said:
No mean to sway you but why change it, for what looks lovly but maybe a heavier ??
The shifter I have would probably work just fine. Yes, the CMS unit looks nicer to me and my guess is it probably offers much firmer and accurate shifting. I don't know about the weight. Maybe we can get Paul to put it on a scale and let us know.andygtt said:

Andy, let me see if I understand what you are saying. I can take the internals off eBay, build bracketry to support it, and I have a complete new shifter? If that's the case, what's the big deal? Why are they so expensive?IMO the 2nd hand shifter in the above pics is worth about £20....
