16" Rear wheels on the front - again!
Discussion
OK, I know this subject has almost been done to death having done a search but there seems to be a lot of differing outcomes.
I've been offered a set of rear wheels shod with 205/45/16 rubber. Is this OK to go on the front and am I likely to need spacers/rack stops - my car is a 99 with PAS. If so what size - 3mm and 5mm spacers seems to have been debated at length and are spacers/stops better? If I use spacers are the old bolts ok?
Most of the previous threads on here state the front should be 225/45/16, so is are the narrower tyres OK?

I had 205/45/16 `s on the front and had no probs - looks better than those 15`s too I've been offered a set of rear wheels shod with 205/45/16 rubber. Also as it's a wider rim you probably won't need spacers - i.e. half the extra width is equal to the offset difference, therefore putting the wheel/tyre centreline back where it started if you understand what I mean.
I have 225/45ZR16 front and 245/45ZR16 rear - no stops required.
