Hi All
A quick cheeky question
to see if anyone in a the Gatwick or near (not sure whats classed as near) area might has a splash of POR15 I could use. I had the whole chassis of the chimaera waxoild in july and a small amount of the paint has chipped off of the chassis behind the drivers wheel.
I would love to get it covered before using the car again (what with salt on the roads this time of year), and would be grateful if someone could spare a bit for me to chuck on there.
Alternatively can someone suggest a good alternative which I could use? I have some hammerite metal paint with rust preventor in but wasn't sure if that would do it.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
JJ

not sure POR15 keys very well to clean steel unless you acid etch it first and any other decent product costs £20+ a litre which probably more than you want to spend.
Hammerite Smoothrite is ok, but is known to chip easily.
feather edges of the chip first with some wet and dry before painting with some overlap onto the solid powder coat surrounding it

I only had the chassis done in July (is it usual to need to top it up due to stone chips etc). So I will probably use hammerite as I already have some and all I am looking to do is cover the small area where the paint came away to protect the chassis from salt on the roads as I am having my chimaera in all weathers at the mo.
My daily commute has been throwing a hissy fit since i bought the tvr
. (Since July I have had a bump in it. Then the waterpump went, this weeks its the expansion tank and the headgasket).
