Now, I could swear I posted this, but damned if I can find it, so I'll start again ....

I've got a Wii for Christmas thumbup

It's just the standard Wii with 4 chart games (which I got for £240 from Game).

Now there's 3 of us here in the house (Mrs. K and K junior) I'm wondering what else I need for the 3 of us to play games together at once. I've also got a wireless LAN here, and finally i've got a HD tv, so a HDMI cable is a given.

So what extras do I need? I've honestly got no idea.

Many thanks in advance,

K

Hello mate.

You'll need a total of 3 wii remotes, 3 nunchucks (most of the time), and I would invest in a charger for the remotes NOW rather than just messing about replacing the batteries all the time. No other accessories needed really, though a component cable is meant to make a bit of difference (can't see it myself - but then i cant see the difference on my PS3 between standard dvd and blu ray!)

Other than that little lot, you're good to go!

Go for an extra 3 wiimotes, especially over Christmas - that way, you can have (for example) 4 player Tennis on Wii Sports.

Probably get an extra Nunchuck as well, so Junior can whip your ass at Boxing

Agree with the charger idea - we've got a double one and it has paid for itself many times over already. Don't get the Argos one though (this one), very tricky to seat the wiimote so that it start charging - usually takes me a few attempts to get it in properly.

Since I've had this brilliant feedback ..... do you think I can find 2 remotes anywhere?

Sure - they are on Amazon and eBay - but extortionate prices. And the 'Play' game (with free controller) - no chance - unless you want to pay £69 on Amazon.

Ho hum - search continues.

Thanks again everyone thumbup

Argos are normaly pretty good at having Wii things in stock, we got our Wii there when everywhere was supposed to be sold, the same when we needed an extra controller. Think we got Wii Play to get the controller.

A mate was trying to find an extra wiimote yesterday, managed to find one on amazon for £42. They are very much in demand at the moment.

No hdmi on the wii either mate, it's not really about the graphics

I must confess I missed this post until just now! I spent all of lunchtime in every shop trying to get one - with no luck and no-one is accepting waiting lists anymore as they have no idea when anything will come in. Apparantly the waiting lists for the consoles are horrendous with no outlook!

Fortunately I was vaguely surfing the Game website (to see if I could see stock in a specific shop), and there they were in stock! So, I've ordered 2 on the spot.

All went through OK, although it's been "currently being picked and packed" since 2:15 - so fingers crossed it's OK.

Absolutely - and I have Mrs. K to blame for that. When we saw them in October, she said to buy one NOW - which we did (fortunately).

And yeah, we will have fun (esp. if we get the 2 extra controllers).

Tells you who has stock of Wii Play, currently PC World for £35 if you are in the right postcode area.

Well - I got confirmation today that the 2 remotes and nunchucks are on the way and due tomorrow.

All that's left is the composite cable, and a remote re-charger.

And speaking of which - I've been reading mixed reviews of the verious charging units available for the remotes. Some folks are saying that it's broken their remotes and need to be replaced.

Surely that can't be right - can it?

Everything arrived today thumbup

Still 50/50 on the remote re-chargeables - considering the alledged problems that some folks have in it destroying their remotes!

So, how is the Wii? Have you managed to take out the light fittings yet, or forgotten the wrist straps and fired the remote out the window?

FerMeister,

Everything is hunky dory and nothing broken yet.

Actually. I tell a lie. My right arm is killing me - I've got muscles where I never knew I had any!
