New to VW

Well i just picked up a little 1.3 polo coupe to run around in for a few months.

Everything seems fine, it's in great condition for it's mileage and after driving around in it for 50 miles today i can't believe what i've got for the money.

One small problem, it looks like when i have rear screen heater on and headlights if i come to a stop the engine dies, fine when i'm not using any electricity, could this point to a possible fault alternator?

Any help appreciated.
