I've just been searching through various posts regarding mirrors and have been reminded about the "race approved teardrop mirrors" sold by Clever Trevor

www.clever-trevor.net/part/165/raceproved-teardrop...

Has anyone fitted these to a Chim ?

I am looking for general information regarding quality, satisfaction and general comments regarding this modification - any pictures would also be good.

Many thanks
Dave

I love the look on my mirrors, why do you want to change them for them?
Also at £340 i think its a bit steep. for what really, just look like rover 75 mirrors

Look a bit on the expensive side to me.

Try looking at this article on the Griffith Pages about the fitting of VW Corrado mirrors
These where fitted to the SE models and indeed there was/is a need for a mounting block to get them to fit which was an official TVR part but I'd guess you could get a body shop to make you a conversion block.

I'm with T Pot though, I think the standard mirrors look by far better.

The mounting blocks are not worth it anyway, just fill the holes flush with f/g and pick from the plethora of stalked mirrors available now wink Honda, Hyundai, Mini, Mx5,......

I wouldn't get rid of them purely because they are officially "the most aero-dynamic wing mirror made" Gotta be worth it for the geeky pub talk alone!

And the fact my mate has loads of Citroen CX's in has barn, some of which are being broken for spares so I migth be able to lay my hands on a spare set incase our's get beaten off!

.31 CoD wasn't too bad for 1983 mate wink (Yes, I own a BX aswell as a Chim!)

The same mirrors were used on the XJ220, Lotus Espirit (later models) and the Marcos Mantis (possibly the LM's too, but not 100% sure)
