I'm thinking of getting a new shape C class once they hit the second hand/ex demo market, I was resigned to an auto because manual mercs are usually so difficult to sell, but a dealer suggested the new manuals are better than usual for Mercedes.

Would a manual new shape C be unsaleable?

I far, far prefer the manual C-Class to the Auto. I ran a 220CDI Sport Manual and loved every minute of it. Now there is a rod driven gearbox and hill start assist, will not be a problem at all....

Although the prospect of a manual Mercedes is appealing, (the new SLK is a good example of that, lots of owners on here will tell you so) I think the stigma of only buying a silver auto with black leather will be around for some time.

Shame really, and the new C looks fantastic in white when you come to spec it.

It really does, there's a white Sport with the black glass roof living around the corner from me, it looks very smart.
