i have recently serviced my fiesta x reg 5 door 1.25 the clutch went and it had to be picked up by the RAC. i knew it was on its way as the biting point was so high but the clutch was still progressive in both directions! now though ive had it repaired the clucth biting point is much lower (as it should be) and the car "squats" (it had stopped doing that before the cluctch went) when you find the biting point in first. though the clucth feels very light when stepping on it.

My worry though is that now that the clutch goes down very easily when i step on it though it comes up more progressively up till the biting point and beyond that. but when i go to change gear it goes down with so little effort. is something wrong or is this normal? thanks in advance! ive just passed my test so i'm a lil nervous this being my first car

High pedal effort is also a sign of a worn clutch. You probably got used to it being heavy and now its fixed it feels super light. Thats how most of the 'shopping cars' are now. Perfectly normal.

new clutches are lighter as the mechanism moves easier
