Battery Care thoughout the Winter !

As I am not using the TAM much these days, thought I had
better invest is some kind of battery safe guard device
like a trickle charge. Do these connect into the
battery access point at the bottom of the wing behind
the front wheel (cant remember if it is driver or passenger)

Any advise much appreciated !

Rather than go to the expense of the special lead to connect to the battery port and a trickle charger, I use a normal battery charger connected through the cigar lighter socket with a standard plug; switch it on for a few hours each weekend, has the same effect. (Just need to remember to do it, but if like me you're always going in the garage to check & admire your PnJ that won't be a problem!)
If you have thin cables you can leave it pludgged-in at the cigar socket permanently and the door can be closed without risk of damaging the rubbers, so if you do forget to charge it for a while and the battery goes flat, you can still charge it later and get the doors to open

Yes they do - passenger side. Or, perhaps easier, into the cigarete lighter. Don't know about you but i have to park reasonably close to the garage wall on the passenger side to be able to get out easily the driver's side. Thus, its not easy to reach the Anderson plug under the battery. Instead I just run the cable into the car at window height so that the cable isn't fouled on the door

i don't think this will be a problem if gary's tamora is anything like mine! there's gaps round the windows you could get a length of ring main cable through!

Guy's, when buying the charger, is it possible to buy as a bundle
with the cigarette lighter lead included as I am only seeing it
as a add-on (OptiMate/AccuMate Accessory Plug Lead)

Have you any old phone chargers/power adapters that you can bodge-up (convert) to use in the cigar lighter socket; that's what I did, but as you've probably noticed, although not tight I do squeak 'occasionally' I like to think of it as recycling

hard wire a charging plug to the battery

Pull the wires through the passenger footwell gromet to the right of the 80A fuse, then bring the wire to below the nearside air vent.

bought a CTEK jobby in the end, comes highly recommended and
