599GTB or LP640

I'm currently pondering a leap up the supercar chain from a 360CS to either a 599GTB or LP640. I've read the reviews and looked at the stats but I need some real world feedback.

I fully intend to test drive both prior to selling my soul but any owner feedback, good or bad on either car would be really useful.

I love Ferrari's but based on looks, it has to be the LP640 for sure!

A friend of mine has one of each and reckons the Ferrari is probably the slightly 'better' car - in terms of quality of finish, comfort, interior etc. Also reckons the Ferrari might be a little quicker but there ain't much in it. Styling/looks are probably the main thing and that's very much a personal preference anyway.

Similar prices, I guess we don't know enough yet to comment on residuals. Terrible decision to have to make

The LP640 has just too much wow factor to ignore... on the basis of emotional feel good and fun factor the Lambo wins hands down.. the 599 is just a brilliant car and i would say ferrari's best car to date but has lost a few crucial ingrediants in what defines a true Hypercar.. having said that I wouldn't blame anyone for opting for the 599 if you prefer discreet...

I would look at a Carrera GT if you can stretch a bit further.

Both beautiful cars. 640 in your face 599 more subtle. Drive both and make an informed choice. Personally I would not kick either out of bed.

Erm...are you actually saying the 599 looks like a Japanese car? OK then...!

Anyway, I agree with whats been said already:

Everyday car then most definatly 599...weekend fun, then it gets more complicated because both have excellent entertainment potential - although I would bet u any money that the LP640 may be more of a special occasion than the 599!

Both are recently on the market so neither has its quota of scare stories, and at this level you'll end up with a great car whichever you choose. Which one will make you go 'wow' when you open up the garage door? IMO you make the financial (head) decision once. When you buy the car; you make your emotional response every time you look at it.
