Well after quite a long time waiting, I finally bought an XJR (a few weeks ago). 2001 year in metallic black with doeskin leather - 80k miles with Jaguar service history.

All I can say is ... what a fantastic car to drive biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Chris

p.s. When I spoke to Jaguar about this car before I bought it, they referred to it as an XJR100 - I presume all XJR8s are actually XJR100s?

Nope the XJR100 is a rather special, special edition. Generally regarded as being very desirable.

Does it have Montreal rims? Does it say XJ100 in the wood on the glove box and door sill? Does it have Brembo brakes? If so you have an XJ100 a mighty good find and buy.

The '100' was to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Sir William Lyons. I believe onlt 100 were made, along with 100 XKR's

I'm not convinced at all that its an XJR100 - there is nothing to say that it is anywhere and definitely no brembo brakes. Can't understand why Jaguar finance said it was XJR100 though on telephone when I was getting previous finance clearance confused I guess there must be a register somewhere by vin no.

Anyway, I bought it as an XJR and I am really pleased with it.

Must be a typo somewhere then. All in all the XJ100 is the same as a XJR, it would just have a higher level of kit and those Brembo's.
