I posted a simple informative comment on the Jaguar forum in relation to entering the "XK8 with a flat battery" my post was removed at "user request" what user certainly wasn't me. If you check its actually quite difficult to get in touch with Pistonheads and its even more difficult to find out why your posts have been removed.

Sorry but PH had lost its cred with me what a shame I thought it was a truly impartial site but don't believe it any more. Be interested to see how long this post remains and anyone else with same issues

If you read the posts, it was made very clear that the reason the post was edited was simply because you had publicly and clearly stated an alternative way to break into the car without a key.

It's not something that is accepted on PH - as any owner will tell you. And I'm not sure why Jag owners are any different.

to be fair, this thread would get more of the attention from the people its intended to be aimed towards, if it was posted in the website feedback section!

The contact details are on the homepage under contact us, which lists email or telephone numbers to contact us through. However as you feel it is difficult to contact us we will look to see if the details are as visible as we had hoped.

The moderators of the site, who are enthusiasts like yourself, work tirelessly to make sure the site is run to the rules PH has always run under for many years. Nothing has changed as far as the impartiality and we welcome any comments good or bad about any subject as long as it doesn't break the rules of submission. Kinky above has hopefully explained to your satisification the reason for your post being edited/removed.

Hope that helps thumbup

Just to clarify .....

Firstly, the offending post was edited, to remove some details as I've already outlined above.

And finally, the reason the thread was deleted was simply because the mod concerned clearly stated on that thread that he would leave it live for a week and then delete it, due to the nature of the content.

His impending action was made very clear up front, and was documented as such at the time.

I'm not sure there is an issue.
