Hi guys,

Any chance of a non-TVR interloper attending? I'm thinking more and more that I might make my first step into TVR ownership in a few months time and it would be good to have a chat with a few local owners.

I think my current daily driver is about as far removed from a flame-spitting wedge as it's possible to get, but don't worry, I'd park discretely far away wink

Chris.

Thorpey - it is actually held in Essex where you are but this thread is for a convoy coming from Hertfordshire over to Essex to join in the fun! biggrin But if you're there already or further east than we are in Hertfordshire (J.23 of the M 25), the thread you want to read is this http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0...

Look at that and perhaps the most sensioble would be for you to go directly to the White Hart at 11:00 where everybody will be grouping before setting off again! Nick.

Thorpey, drag the misses along, she will love the food and there will be loads of people for her to talk to whether she is into her cars or not (like my Mrs!).

Chris, you are more than welcome to come. 3 options for you depending on your situ. Come direct to the Forresters, or come with the S. Mimms guys, or come with the Thorpe Bay lot to the White Hart (see the Mid Essex Convoy Thread and speak to Tegriffic.

Hope to see you 2 there.

This is on Sunday, finishing at South Mimms around midday?

I spend most of my time these days in Enfield (J25) so I'm no distance away at all.

I'm going to a party on Saturday night and that looks potentially very messy, but if I'm in a relatively human state on Sunday morning I'll try and make an appearance smile

Can't remember what it's like at South Mimms - I presume there's just one big car park and head for the noise...

starting at s.mimms at 10 - leave fairly promptly

convoy to A12 then colchester

meet other noisy cars then off to the forrester biggrin

return home when finished..not usually in a convoy

Chris - as you enter South Mimms services, turn right following the signs saying "Caravans"!! That leads you down to the far end of the main car park which is less busy and unless you're the first, you'll see us in the middle somewhere. If you're first then we'll find you. Seems so far it's just Toobin (black T350) and me (Green Chim 450). If you're relying on noise alone to find us, then you'll certainly come across Toobin first!! biggrin

I plan to be there for 10-10:15 and leave by 10:15 or very soon after. It's about 40 minutes convoy (M25 > A12)to the White Hart near Boreham where we meet others coming from Thorpe Bay then all convoy to a Golf Club for lunch. (Usually carvery but this Sunday Xmas lunch with silly hats!)

What car will you be in - IF you come? Nick.

Erm, I'm quite embarassed to admit this, but the Sylva is off the road at the moment, so my only real option is my daily driver - an 1100 Saxo. biglaugh

I must admit, I thought you finished at South Mimms rather than vice versa. There's no real point in me trying to drive in convoy with a load of TVRs, so it's probably best I meet you somewhere along the way (start or finish basically). Are you coming back to South Mimms afterwards or do you just disperse from Colchester?

No shame in a Saxo - at least it's not a Nova!! biggrin Anyway, if you don't fancy the M25 convoy and still want to come on the day, you could go directly to the White Hart for 11:00. Just take the M25 eastbound to Junction whatever it is for the A12 to Chelmsford/Colchester. Then:

1) Take the A12 towards Colchester,
2) Turn off at J19 (Boreham) – keep in the left-hand lane,
3) Take the 2nd exit,
4) Follow the road, it turns to a 40mph,

The White Hart is on your left a few hundred yards further on.
If you get to the roundabout, you have gone too far..!

Or just look up the address at http://www.multimap.com - White Hart, Colchester Rd, Springfield, Chelmsford, Essex, CM2 5PG

Everyone meets in the car park of this pub and are usually there for about an hour - which really is a big part of the meet. Then there's a fairly sedate convoy over non m/way roads to The Forresters, a golf and country club about 40 minutes away. I guess you could either join in on that (nothng too fast to keep up with inn the Saxo!) or go back to p/Bar from the White Hart. There'll probably be quite a few at the WH unless it's tipping down!

Nick.

Well exactly, plus it does about twice the MPG of my last daily driver, so hopefully by the time I'm seriously looking to buy my budget would be enough to cover any of the Wedges or S-Series. smile

Will have to see. There is a good chance I won't be able to make it, but if I'm in a fit state to drive I'll come and say hello. Out of interest do you have meets like this often? Theoretically I live in Chelmsford, so no distance at all...

Second Sunday of every month but only sily hats in December biggrin How do you "theoretically" live in Chelmsford confused Does that mean it's no distance in theory but is in reality (from Poters Bar) ?
