There have been lots of posts over time about improved induction systems, but seeing the prototype sale made me wonder whether anyone has actually tried a 4.2 style induction on a 4.5 - maybe with slightly enlarged components or something?

Quite possibly TVR dropped the idea for the actual system because it was better, but I'd be interested to hear from the Pros who have experimented...

Julian is playing with a set of inlets from a 4.2 and JonnyW is running 4.2 inlets on his racer.

You should contact Andy @ APM as he's had nothing but positive things to say about the 4.2 inlets.

Talk to Austec and APM about it Ian - HarryW's and JonnyW's cars both run this system.

Jonny and Harry have both reported excellent results. Harry's motor is making 435 bhp with standard 4.2 induction and conservative mapping - enough for most wink

I have the same (well I say have it, its still at the garage where its been all bloody year). However, the car has been rebuilt to a red rose spec but nothing as special as Harry's and it made 405bhp when mapped. However this was before it was completely run in and the engine was not run as hard as it would have been with a few more miles on the clock so probably would have made a bit more.

Which julian is this,Tim?Is it Joo of Track car solutions?
I thought Joo was a believer in the 4.5 inlets being the better of the two, despite the apparently obvious 'advantages' of the 4.2 type?
I'm all ears on this subject as i find it very interestingsmile

A lot of reasons I'd rather not go into on a public forum, or be able to without it being locked. However I have high hopes that it will be back before xmas. Great time of year to get it back in the North East of Scotland as well, not.

How is your car going?

Must be bloody hard to be without it for so long. Isn't it over a year now?

Been away since March, had it back briefly in August but had to go back to where it came from.

I forgot to answer your question, it has been hard and have missed it a lot however if it was going to happen it was probably the best year for it. We had Cerbfan junior this February and worked offshore an awful lot so this has lessened the blow somewhat and kept me preoccupied.

I suppose that there is never a good time for it to happen. I've now got a mini Cyclone (Cyclone junior) and it's amazing how much less time I spend with car related interests. Hope it gets sorted soon and you'll have a good 2008 in it.

Jules.

Going good. I saw your car on the ramps when I was down with mine. My car was overdue to come back to me as well and when it did there was quite a few issues I had to sort when I got it back home.

Drop me an email and I'll let you know.

Billy.
