Why doesn't my 'Underline' formatting work but others do?

As per the thread title:

Example per 'Formatting Help' screen:

Bold OK

Italic OK

Strike through OK

but

_Underline_ NOT OK

Correct - a double underscore on each side of the word.

it does, quite obviously a double underscore, off to specsavers with you

Nah I do agree it's not all that clear until you highlight it with the mouse and see it's 2 characters long. Can't say I've ever used it until now though, nor much other formatting, so it doesn't bother me
