Esso Ultron

Need to top the car up with oil so rang H.R Owen in London as they last serviced it. I asked what oil they used and it was Esso Ultron 5w-40. Ive read a number of threads about Oil but can't remember reading about this one. They did say you could use Mobil 1 as well but didn't want to mix them. Anyone get their car serviced there and is this the norm?
