Hi guys, I'm over in the states and it's about that time for a valve clearance adjustment. The only problem is that I cannot figure out which gaskets go on the engine. Can any one help me with either a part number or other car make that used the same engine and same gasket kits so that I can search it on standard parts websites? (No one has a category for TVR, of course.) It would be a great help.

Regards,

Geoff

Sorry, by the way, it's a 1986, in case that makes a difference.

This is probably good for some parts not all.
I would think the valve cover gaskets from this are good.

If not then Classic motor works or Team Blitz

Thanks Jeff, that gasket shape looks correct. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Originally the 2.8 used a pressed-tin rocker cover with a cork gasket that followed the curvy contour of the mating face of the cover.
From about '85-on the Ford XR4i gained an alloy cover (with a set of fins and a cast-in Ford logo) that was altogether more modern-looking; this is a straight swap for the earlier cover if you need some bling. On my Tasmin I milled the Ford logo off and had the covers powder-coated the same colour as the car. However the gasket is a different shape - more rectangular - so probably won't fit the earlier cover. I'd guess if your cover is tin and your parts guy finds a gasket for a pre-85 Ford V6 Cologne engine there's a good chance it'll fit.
