Was it a white 'S'?

Heading south on the A140 this morning I saw a small white sportscar coming towards me on the other carriageway. I tried to figure it out what it was - S? No. RV8? No. As it goes past it looks rather like an S with a bodykit, different front, headlights etc. The rear was different too but it had the right Escort Mk3 rear lights....

Any ideas anyone?
