So is this just my car, or does anyone else experience the same problem...

Let me set the picture, the car is in the garage and I am in the kitchen. I turn on the microwave to heat up a bowl of soup, or frazzle a potato...and woo ooh woo ooh woo ooh...the alarm goes off!!!

Now while I suspect that this rather strange behaviour from my car is something to do with the alarm being microwaved controlled, and pesky EM radiation leaking out of the microwave oven … I’m not sure the neighbours appreciate the car’s serenade, especially at six in the morning !!!

Sounds a bit dodgy to me... If enough microwaves were leaking out of my oven to set off my car alarm, I'd be a bit worried about it cooking me!!

Mind you, even brand new properly adjusted microwaves do chuck out a tremendous amount of crap.

Mine disrupts the 2.4GHz video sender I use to watch telly while cooking, and wireless networking cards actually have specific code in them to work around interference from microwave ovens.

radio signals and doppler wotsits in the car use tichy signals compared to the oven's. I'd guess it would be of the order 100,000 times more powerful. Not too suprising if a relatively small leak from the oven buggers up more sensitive equipment. Big question is what does it to to your brain? Well, probably less damage than the pot noodle will.

Help!!!!

It was all getting a bit Max Power up in general gassing, so thought I'd seek sanctuary back in Chimaera land. Only to find we're talking about micowave ovens?! TVRs & PIES, TVRs & PIES, TVRs & PIES, TVRs & PIES. Thats better.

Duncan; bin the microwave quick, nothing on a TVR is that sensitive.

Adam, surely you’re not suggesting TVRs are blunt cudgels

On a more serious note, I take it no one else has experienced this strange behaviour on the part of their cars…? Maybe I’ll ask down at the garage next time I get it serviced if the alarm is functioning as it should!!!
