I had to do 6 hours on the mway in that rain yesterday my 2005 CV8 collected close to half a bucket of water in the drivers side rear footwell seems to be coming up at speed strange to have the V8 noise accompanied by water sloshing around

has anyone heard of or had anything like this?

sounds like you have recreated the waiheke ferry mate wink
A few guys have had leak issues, but from memory it was rear passenger foot wells. You could check your door rubbers for splits or breaks. Else it might have to go to Mr Vauxhall for attention.

It could be one of a number of things:

- Blocked drain holes around the rear wheel well
- Ill fitting door seals
- Leaking door membrane

I have a similar problem but it mostly happens when the car is parked up. The water somehow ends up collecting in the groove in the seal at the base of the door opening and then runs over the sill into the rear footwell. It seems to happen more when parked on a slope or highly cambered road.

Is resealing the membranes an easy DIY job? Does anyone have the TIS for the Monaro?

Hi Mate,

All instructions for removing the door covers can be found here - http://kb.ls1gto.com/KB/article.aspx?

Biggest problem is twisting the door catch enough to unclip it - but can be done in about 15 mins. Last time I saw the membrane on my car was when it was a about 6 months old and then looked rather moldy. Mine is sealed now (soundproofing) but still get a little water on the bottom of the door rubber.

Cheers
Steven
