MY99 9-5 costs the same to run as my Mustang

just added it to my PH garage along with the running costs, etc. and was very surprised to see it calc. out at £0.18 per mile. exactly the same as my 2001 V8 Mustang.
I had just temporarily garaged the Mustang as I was putting too many miles on it, and it was drinking the juice a bit. I think I'll have to go and uncover it.
The Saab has been pretty much faultless BTW, heck amount of car for so little dosh. 1999 Saab 9-5 Estate, in Black, Tan Leather, 60k miles, Full Saab SH, all the toys except rear heated seats, and traction control. New timing belt, sump cleaned, T&T for £3,700. That won't be leaving me for a bit!

Mine will get 32 ish on a long run, but goes anywhere between 24 and 28 on day to day driving. Just glad I've got my company fuel card.
you get better mpg with a tuned 9-5
My 2000 9-3 does 26p a mile, which by co-incidence is within a penny of the Impreza Turbo I also run.
This is using a spread sheet I have used for years, and includes EVERYTHING except depriciation.
To be honest, I was hoping the Saab would be a little better than that, but it is driven with a heavy right foot, and if it did slightly more miles it would be cheaper as the overheads would be less significant then. It has been pretty reliable though.
