Passenger door mechanism - sticking

Hi everyone,

I bought a 4.0HC Chimaera from Adrian Blyth about a month and a half ago and am absolutely loving owning the car - it's always been one of my dreams.

I have noticed that on colder days though that the passenger door opening mechanism (using the internal knob) has a tendency to stick, preventing the door from latching when closing.

I had a look at the gubbins behind the door trim over the weekend and it seems the cable has become quite stiff, so the spring cannot pull the cable back... I've fashioned an intermediate fix with a fairly tough elastic band (to assist the spring), is it worth trying to replace the cable (i.e. will it get stiffer?) Or should I stock up on elastic bands? Any one else had this problem?

If you have a 3mth warranty or so then I`d get it back to the dealer and get it sorted out (along with any other niggles that you might have)

The only problem I have with mine is that sometimes it locks me in...
