Amazing that the 2--4 car does o - 62 in 4.7 secs and 4 years on with an engine that is 150bhp more powerful it only improves to 4.6secs. Whats that all about? Was the 2004 model that good?

The old enemy wieght

RS6 2004 1840kg 440hp power to wieght 242 hp per ton

RS6 2006 2025kg 572hp power to wieght 282 hp per ton

40hp is not a big enough leap.

In a 700kg lotus elise yes, in a 2 ton audi no

The thing is though to get down to say 4.0 would take a big step up in bhp/tonne and to be frank would be very difficult to notice.

RS6 4.2v8 bi turbo mmmmm
Whats a good price for these now? £20-30k? and how much lower will they go? Is the old RS4 better in that respect i.e. losing less money? Also do people have an issue with buying a £20k+ car with 100k miles on it??

You can get a very good RS6 for £25,000.They really are excellent cars and exclusive, but the older B5 RS4 are very exclusive and hold there value extremely well, some still fetching over £25,000.The engines on the RS4 B5 are excellent. I currently own a B5 S4 and the sound is beautiful.I would recommend either.

Why 2 owners i will never know but this is one piece of kit i wouldn't mind owning

0-60 is pretty much a crap measurement with these type of cars. Once moving, they are blisteringly quick. The weight dampens the 0-60 of course, check all the other rolling performance figures and it will be VERY fast.

It's a bit naive on somewhere like PH to read too much into 0-60 figures anyway. Most of us *should* know that this doesn't tell the whole story.

Your right Scooby - not everyone on PH is a non naive walking encylcopedia - I asked the original question and you gave me an informed answer - thankyou.

I have an RS6 and I love it - the noise the pace and the feeling that it has some much speed pick up at anytime. I plan to keep it for a long while!!

Cheers
