Ok...odd question I know but can anyone recommend a good adhesive remover?
The picture in the link below shows the underside of the bonnet of a car I'm in the process of restoring. Having installed new under-bonnet insulation you can see the brownish marks around the new insulation. This is old adhesive which was previous applied somewhat haphazardly and doesn't look good.
I've tried things that were to hand like brake cleaner, nail varnish remover etc. They're not even touching this stuff.
What should I try?
Thanks in advance!

Hi bud, had a similar problem and tried everything, the only thing tht came close was WD40 but not too good. Mine was also on the bodywork so was a little scary. My neighbours wife walked past and asked me what I was doing. After explaining she went inside and came out with a little bottle with a label "glue remover". Sorry but this is straight up. I was very wary and used it sparingly ( I have a Nissan which has pretty thin paint anyway). Long story short it worked. Just dabbed it on sparingly with a tissue and let it doe its stuff. Then gently lifter it off with an old credit card.
I believe its commonly available in Chemists and supermarkets.
Sorry the answer isnt more scientific but it worked for me.

Like this, not sure if it's a good price or bad tho.
