whats your winter project
Discussion
Not very much this time as I did lots over the last two winters and there's very little to do. I previuosly painted the chassis then overcoated the outriggers with Dinitrol wax. Over the last few weeks I've removed the Dinitrol to reveal the painted surface as it looks a lot better, very messy and painstaking job !
I just changed the engine mountings
The rad started to weep following the trip to Lemans in the summer and the coolant has been staining my nice white chassis so I've removed the rad and am just about to treat it to a new aluminium replacement.
Apart from that I'll just be tinkering I think.
I had intended to decat the manifolds and have them and the y-piece ceramic coated but youngest daugther started uni in September and the costs are hitting my toy fund hard at the moment.
Previous winter play has included -
Carbon dash
Rollcentre roll bar
Rose jointed ARB links
Braided brake hoses
Mintex 1144 brake pads
Chassis strip and paint
Smooth bore induction hose
Replaced the mesh grills at the front of the engine bay with stainless steel mesh
Remanufactured the exhaust mounts in stainless steel
Plus a lot of detailing to the engine bay
Lots of Levens stuff
Roll on April 1st !
Colin.

Body lift for me this winter - well, I could no doubt do with one at my age but I actually mean the car
I'll be replacing the outriggers and I think I'll do the diff bushes while I am in there. And the flexi fuel lines and fuel filter too I suspect.
And if thats not done for me I'll have a go at upgrading the heater blower ala AntonyJ modification and maybe installing either HID or 7" headlights.
Should keep me quiet !

Re-fit sodding steering rack for 4th time (don't ask, I will use caps lock to explain
)
..... probably end up buying a new one !!
Rear wishbone bushes
diff bushes
Check wheel bearings
Check on state of fuel lines
Clean interior properly
Sort some of the carpets
Sort door/window rubbers
Re-fit door cap rubbers
Get passenegr window working faster/alignment sorted
Replace door speakers
Remove existing loom
Replace with new loom to include fan control & shift light
Install coil packs
Cut and fit new Moroso leads
Install Emerald ECU
Repalce injectors with my new big ones
Fit 72mm plenum (so I can finally give Clivef his std one back)
Maybe buy Clivef's decat Y piece
Get it all set up at Emerald up the road
Fit new DS2500 front pads
Find decent rear disks
Look at possible new front rotor's
Back to Gugliemi for set up
Find cheap set of Chimaera 16" wheels
Fit R888's ahead of some track time next year
All ahead of a trip to the Alps in late April/early May . . .
ETA - Forget, need to sort out a set of driving lamps and fit them

Mid body off now , as most of the regulars will know.
So diff rebuilt, new bushes, and all the bits that go with the chassis!
And then the body is going to be painted......
PINK !!!!!!!!
Ian (Barreti) you really gonna go for it then????

Only the usual chassis rub down and wax oil...erm....to be done by Techniques, officially Morgan people but great with TVR's.
This year the Griff has had:
New diff bush set
New suspension bushes
New engine mounts
Recored rad
Gaz golds
New Falkens all round
16 in estorils on the front
De pre cat
I am gonna stop now before the wife sees the list...38 weeks pregnant and not with TVR humour

When most people say they have a pit in their garage, they mean a big hole they can get in to work on the underside of their cars. I spotted your americanism earlier & now realize you actually mean you have a bed in your garage....
