Rather than continue to hijack AJP's thread regarding his Sagaris seats I thought we should start a new one.

This is now my understanding:-

Thanks to ex-factory staff on PH we have established that there were a couple of development/prototype Sagarises produced in Autumn 2003, then some (including Gaffer's) pre-production prototypes produced in Spring 2004.

Obviously the sale of TVR by PW to NS in early Summer 2004 then produced a hiatus in Sagaris development/production. Production didn't appear to start until 2005 and a batch of demo/customer Sagarises were released together by the factory.

When the TVR factory went into administration several Sagarises, including Funky's, were unfinished along with some Tuscans and T350s. These I believe were finished off this year and offered for sale through some dealers. I recall a dealer in Preston advertising the last Sagaris built at TVR's Blackpool factory.

Does anyone know which was the first production Sagaris and which was the last produced? Are there still any unfinished Sagarises or unsold ones out there?

No progress has been made on unfinished above and all in storage,
but unpainted sags have been taken off chassis and chasiss made for sale through spares network dealers.

Think there maybe one unsold car available

Not sure how true that is Daftlad (no I'm not picking at you). Below is a picture taken on the day workers were allowed back in to collect their things this time last year. On the left you can see 6 unfinished Sagaris'. Going Anti clockwise - 1x Laser Blue, 1 x Red Glow, 1 x silver, 1x Chem Orange, (1 x Alloy Pearl Tuscan), 1x Left Hand Drive unidentified colour and 1x Chem Green. Now, I know for a fact that all of the Sags in the picture went into storage in a warehouse in Northhampton (along with Gaffers Sag and plenty of other cars) whilst the company was frozen, dealers were then given first refusal on the cars which were then finished and sold. The only cars snapped up at the time were the LHD car and the Laser Blue one (that ended up at Cisely TVR). Over the past year HHC have had the silver one and Gaffers, however there is still no trace of what happened to the others. It is believed that these cars are still in storage somewhere unfinished. I rang a couple of dealers a few months ago when I was thinking about returning to the fold and I was told that I could have a brand new Chem Green, Chem Orange or Red Glow Sag if I wanted. This seeemed to tie in with what I was told about the storage of cars. My only question is who the hell finished(es) them?!?

Oh and that's not to mention the unpainted cars that were in build.

Of the cars that were painted and trimmed, I understand only one is left - that being the Chameleon car. (I could be wrong wink but that is what I understand).

So the first pre-production Sagaris out of the Sagaris mould was actually number 3 - this silver one - and given away as a prize by Auto Trader - wonder who was the lucky winner! Is it still around?

Gaffer's pre-production prototype Sagaris was the second one from this mould and the 4th one produced. Then the first two development Sagarises with the dodgy rear-ends must have been produced from standard T350 shells and then used subsequently to make the Sagaris mould.

Was the Red Race-liveried Sagaris the third one from the mould (5th produced)? How many were pre-production prototypes were produced before the first production Sagaris proper popped out?

No, there was only one prototype based on the T350 (MPH 03 car). The pre-production prototype sticker in Gaffers car was put there by me at the GFOS as there where some build issues on the car and it had lots of close contact with potential customers. So, to recap for one last time!

Car number 1 MPH silver car 03
Car number 2 Silver Autotrader car
Car number 3 Candy car

The following cars had vynlester bodies and are the ones that had vents cut out and sat painted in the yard before being sold of as race car shells. Pics on here somewhere.

Thanks hoopdiddy07 - great info.

Someone else on here stated that the first MPH03 silver Sagaris was written off and a replacement built - is this incorrect?

No Oscar, the MPH'03 car was stripped in early 04 in order to become a body master from which moulds were taken to produce the silver car and candy. The silver car prodcued from the moulds then got written off and has since been rebuilt and shipped to Switzerland after being for sale on here. Here are the last pictures seen of the Silver car (not the MPH03 car!)...

Any one know where the Press Cars like PNO5OUL, etc. fit into this puzzle?

AFAIK the first 2 press cars (Chem Orange PN05 OUL & Blue PN05 OUX) were the first 'proper' cars to be built after Candy. Here is the picture of them about to be finished:

Then I'm pretty sure the purple press car PF05 AMO was built. Or the purple one may have been built before the OUL and OUX, I'm not 100% sure which way round it was.

I may be wrong on this point (and probably are) but I think the first delivered customer Sag was the Nivea Blue car that stayed unregistered for a long time and was transported everywhere on a trailer?

I'm sure one of the factory lads will be able to confirm what's correct out of the above though.

So those two were really the first two production Sagarises - as the silver one (No2) and Gaffer's one (No3) were labelled as pre-production prototypes.

Where are they now?

A.G.

Have you reached puberty yet?

Are you saying there was yet another development Sagaris?

OscarT

PS I heard you were planning a big bank heist. How's it going?

John/people
I've seen this car recently and I am certain its Arancio Pearl not Chameleon Orange, and there maybe a few morewinkbut none are what you could call trimmed.

The Arancio Orange car in the pic was mine. It was ordered in Aug '06 and after waiting twelve months with no progress, and misleading info coming from various sources, I reluctantly cancelled my order. That having been said I am still awaiting the return of my deposit.
