Advice please on running problem

Finished work and thought i'd go for a b road blast. Anyway to cut a long story short the car is running as flat as a pancake. no punch watsoever. Temp gauges etc are fine but she sounds and feels like shes lost power and sluggish. thru the gears it shudders slightly then foot flat and you don't get hit by any punch in the back up to 70mph. On tickover it also sounds like a steamtrain going along the track. Obviously i had to turn around and stick her back in the garage. Blocked fuel line perhaps? Same sort of thing happned to me this summer after a bout of heavy rain. i pulled over, turned the engine off and fired her up and hey presto. hasn't happened this time though.

Could be one, or a combination of many things! So eliminate the easy ones first. When did you last change/inspect your spark plugs?

is it a 3.0 or a 2.5 ?

could be water got into the ignition leads/coils

or you could have a loose boost pipe

does it make full boost ?
