Hello,

I had a test in a 4200 Gransport today, not a car I have ever seriously considered. First off....what a fantastic engine note. Once I got used to the gearbox...(the salesman's advice was just curl you toes upwards when you go up a gear), I found it a pleasure to drive. Sports setting made the gear changes sound especially fierce. I think it has to be said that the car is really is a piece of art. The interior is kinda sculpted and with the larger mouth (than the Cambiocorsa) and the rear mesh inserts make it a truely stunning car. It wasn't as quick as I had expected but the engine is very torquey and so mid range it seemed to shift well. From what I experienced on the road it seems to offer a total driving experience. Have any 'over sixfooters' found a truly comfortable driving position, as it seems to me it could be a little cramped over long distances?

Rgds, Brin

Just for clarification

4200GT = Coupe with manual gearbox

4200CC = Coupe with CambioCorsa gearbox

GranSport = updated/uprated Coupe with CambioCorsa Gearbox

All Coupes have larger "mouth" after 2005 model year.

Brin, I'm 6'7 & haven't quite signed on the line but fingers crossed should be shortly. I too was surprised I fitted (I don't in the 4200) - not as generous as the new Jag XK but not bad.

I tested a GS a while back and sat in a number of 42's in the showroom. I'm 6ft 4 (and like my tucker) and was surprised how comfortable I felt.

I owned a 4200 for 2 years and even managed 3500 miles in a week and I am 6'3". However, its a typical Italian driving position. You need short legs and long arms.
