Just bought this giulia gt junior
Discussion
Hi all,
I have recently bought this step nose junior after a long search.
The car is in South Africa and I will be importing the car to the UK in the spring.
Have a look here www.designownweb.com/alfagiulia/html

Thanks all, need some advice though pse.
I am no expert of these cars or their history - perhaps you could help me with some answers pse?
According to the factory the car was built on 30 Oct 1969 and sold to a dealer in Johannesburg on 01 Dec 1969. When did step nose alfa production stop? I do know the cars were assembled at a plant in East London (SA). Maybe the last of the cars to be asembled?
Also, the car has "flat dash".I thought by this time the cars had the larger instruments (tacho and speedo)?
Also, the registration documents shows that the car was first registered in 1973 - wonder if it remained unsold for that long.
Thanks again
Henk

Henk, Step fronts were still being made in Italy into the seventies, as was often the case Alfa continued with the old shape badged as Juniors alongside the 1750GTV's. I'm not sure what interior they had though probably the one you have.
South African built ones might be differant, but as they were sent out as knocked down kits and just assembled there I doubt it. Certain details were different though, a mate of mine has a Sprint GT which seems to have a slightly different wheel design to any other we have seen.

Reviving an old thread - and how time has flown.
What started off as a quick refresh of my step nose prior to shipping to the UK ended up in a full glass out restoration back in SA. This little beauty is being loaded into a container today and should be in the UK in 3 weeks time all being equal.
I am really excited about the car - it's been nearly two years since I bought it...
The pictures in the link at the top of the tread shows the car prior to restoration.
I can't wait - counting the sleeps now....

I collected the GTJ from Harwich Friday past. Checked the oil and water and drove her 90 miles home without incident. Car is now with Jamie Porter at Alfa Workshop for MOT and service. I can't wait to get her on the road. I smiled all the way from Harwich home
These cars are such a delight to drive.
