Yesterday I received some of the best BoLOC news for a very long time. There is to be the first BoLOC wedding. I will not announce who is getting married - that is for the lucky couple. While discussing the news over a couple of bottles of champers, we decided on what was needed for the stag and what the stag wants to do for the stag doo.

A European run involving some good driving and good beer (Not at the same time) Though in our state advanced relaxation the possibility of drinking a ruskie at the top of Stelvio seemed a good idea and now in the cold light of hangover, not so good. The route is undecided and needs to be discussed. We are planning for a long weekend sometime in May.

All those interested please come forward and those with some good knowledge of European driving, please suggest some Lotus friendly routes. Good roads, good bars, good hotels with good parking are a must.

I guess that makes next weekend a celebration as well as the Xmas binge.
Might be interested in the trip, all depends on dates and finances

Stelvio in a long weekend might be a bit ambitious, it would need to be a very long weekend, starting Thursday and ending Wednesday I think. However, the general idea is appealing.

interesting! Could be done, depending on, a) who it is (i might not like them!!biggrin) b)dates, c)cost and d) will it be a traditional "male only" stag do?(doubt I`d be allowed to go on my own!!)

We are looking in to doing Stelvio in sept with the seloc crowd but this could be a suitable replacement depending on the above.

Great S Works vision! I was thinking he would marry Gwyndaff Evans!

Any ideas on places to go?
There is a small and very sexy resort in Spain with a great piano bar and cheap cocktails!

FYI, I'm arranging a 5-7 day trip down to the South of France, to do a number of passes in Italy, Switzerland etc at the end of May. Check out Seloc "Blighty to Monty" thread in the events section. You guys are more than welcome to tag along for part or all of it.

Details will be confirmed by mid Jan.

Not sure about driving to Spain, if you are going for long enough the moutain passes, Austria, Italy, are the thing to do. I hate to mention Switzerland cos they are such assholes about being overtaken, and fast cars in general. One of the Stelvio trips did venture into Spain but I don't remember what the SELOC feedback on Spanish roads was, also cheap cocktails and driving don't mix.
Christ I sound like an old fart.

Congrats Tink.

As for Stelvio in May, you'll be lucky... unless your name's Santa and the Elise can be done up like a Skidoo.

Sadly don't think I'll be able to do this. Planning on Le Mans plus a potential 2-weeker to Tuscany via the Alps and back at some point.
