E39 Auto box rebuild help

I've been told by a specialist that my '96 E39 523i SE Auto needs (or will need) a gearbox rebuild soon 
I know the car is quite old and its questionable whether its worth putting that kind of money into it and normally I'd agree, but the rest of the car is in superb condition and it has just 72000 on the clock. I cant imagine finding anything better for the same money.
Anyone on here recommend someone who does quality (preferably warrantied) rebuilds on these gearboxes and torque coverters, at reasonable cost. (Note can be in UK or Ireland as I travel between the two frequently)

The autobox shouldn't require a rebuild at only 72,000 miles, unless it's been driven hard and abused. These vehicles used 'sealed for life' autoboxes, and if problems start appearing, the first step is an autobox filter and fluid change before even considering anything else, as fresh fluid and a new filter can cure a lot of problems.
If that fails to cure the problems, then the next cheapest option is a gearbox valve body rebuild, which can be done with the autobox still in the car, and the autobox sump pan removed.
If all this fails to cure the faults, then the final step is a full autobox rebuild. I recently had the valve body on my E34 540i auto rebuilt, and new fluid and filter fitted, to cure a problem with delayed selection of reverse.
I live on the Wirral, and I used a long-established autobox specialist called Robbs Garage, in Wallasey, and they know all about BMW autoboxes and have a great deal of experience in autobox repairs and full warranted rebuilds. They are a friendly, family-run business, and have a website at: www.robbsgarage.co.uk
Their premises are in Wallasey, on the North-East tip of the Wirral. It's quite easy to get there, even from Ireland, as there are frequent ferries from Dublin & Belfast to Birkenhead docks on the Wirral, and then it's just a 10 minute drive from the ferry terminal through Wallasey town centre to their workshops, which are also just 10 mins from the M53 motorway as well.
