engine developing overrun

up until i had the engine rebuilt 4000 miles ago, i never had a pop, bang, or gurgle from the exhaust of my tamora. however, since the nice chaps at power gave it the equivalent of a quadruple heart bypass, i have noticed that as the miles increase overrun is starting to happen. this is with the standard exhaust too.

the engine seems to be getting better too, which i suppose is it becomming 'run-in' beyond the recommended taking it easy period immediately after re-build.

this is all most pleasing, as i'm planning to fit a sports exhaust system soon. not sure i fancy a de-cat though, as a lot of my journies are 5-7 hours long.

What decat are you looking at? I want to decat my T350. I currently have the Super Sports exhaust as well.

Sometimes pops and bangs on over-run is an indication that the engine's not behaving efficiently - i.e. unburnt fuel igniting in the exhaust.

I noticed that my Tam popped a bit more, with a standard exhaust, following the 2yr 12k service.

i have these pipes and de-cats, its very loud! its great but neighbours might complain, my car at idle can be heard by my friend in his house, 4 doors/100 yrds away.

my car has always had pops and bangs on over-run, flames too, thats before and after tvrpower re-build to 4 litres.

I've got the JP exhaust which is quite loud and there are plenty of popping and burbling.

By de-catting how much louder are we talking about?
Would there be any difference in performance one way or another or is purely the added noise factor?

Wouldn't want a TVR that didn't pop & bang on the overrun!!

How does JP compare with the Power Supersports exhaust? Louder/quieter/more or less poppy and crackly? Still can't decide which to get!

I can't comment on the Power Supersports Exhaust but the JP exhaust is quite loud and as soon as its nearing being fully warmed up pops constantly when easing off throttle i'm well impressed with it. I'm quite curious about de-catting but i'll enjoy it like this for a while and like you try and get other peoples opinions.

It would be nice to hear other peoples opinions on both exhausts and also de-cat.
