I'm not sure exactly the cause of it, but I've definetely come across old threads where people talk about similar problems. Apparently different people have different techniques of pushing different buttons in the car before setting off.

I cant find just the right thread I was thinking about, uthave you had a look at this:

Not a bright posting.

Please edit as I like my car and would rather not tell everyone where the immobilizer is or how to bypass it.

WOW! Why the mother of baby Jesus have people jump down my neck?
I have had a realy bad day and was hoping that the knowledge of the PHer's would help who have had the same problems as me .
Please. I never asked where it was.
Infact I have found where the immobiliser is by doing a search on this site regarding the problems I was having!
So please don't get on our soapbox when the info is already there!!!

So, if anyone has a solution I would love to hear from you via e-mail

Gareth, as Sparky69 has explained, my postings were not aimed at you.

I'm sure he'll email you off list with details of the 'fix'.

Good luck

If this is the fix to bypass the immobiliser starter circuit, I did it to mine and never looked back. Fuel pump is still immobilised and alarm is of course untouched so I can't see a problem with the fix itself.

Added bonus is if ever you need to crank the engine over without firing, you can.

The original post was a Godsend, and thanks for it. If anyone thinks they can bypass the alarm and immobiliser, and nick my car without drawing attention to themselves, good luck to them. It will probably drive itself to TVR Power anywayhehe

If however this has nothing to do with the above, I will clamber back under the rock I crawled out ofgetmecoat

Off track slightly....i've never known a TVR being stolen. I know there must be the odd one or two.

Did your car not even crank over with the immobiliser enabled?

Mine seems perfectly happy to attempt starting, but wont actually fire up with the immobiliser armed.

Are there different alarm systems fitted on early/late cars, or maybe a PO has already applied this "fix" to mine...

Neither had I until 2-3 weeks ago when someone posted on TVRCC that their S had been stolen (Scotland IIRC). Since recovered and thankfully I don't think there was much damage.

When hot my starter wouldnt crank at all - all you could here was the solonoid clicking - sometimes when cold as well!!

With the fix the starter will spin with car imobilised but wont start until imobiliser deactivated.

So if yours spins while imobilised (ie without the high pitch buzzer) its had the FIX.

Good luck! .. DAS
