Connecting MP3 Player / CD Changer to BMW Business Headunit

Just bought myself an E46 320Cd on an 06 plate with the BMW Business single CD headunit. [black M-Sport coupe ]

Since this is pre-MP3 CD compatible, I'm looking for a way to connect my MP3 player (not an iPod incidentally, Creative Zen player) and possibly a MP3 CD compatible CD changer.

Does anyone have experience of doing this?

I have a radio transmitter for the Zen at the moment and its ok, but ultimately suffers interference quite often hence I'd like some form of hardwired option.

Regarding the CD changer, I know Alpine make MP3 changers, are BMW kind enough to leave a cable in the boot to plug it in to or do you need to buy a harness for it?

bmw do an aux input cable, has to go in round the back of the unit though

Any idea how much said cable costs?

Looks like Alpine do a nice 6 disc changer that would fit the bill, just need to find out whether it integrates with the factory headunit and what cables would be needed.

emicen - did you ever get a CD or DVD player to replace the BMW standard pre-MP3 cd player?

I would really like to be able to just swap out my plain audio-CD format CD player for an MP3 CD (or even better DVD) stacker....

Also - any chance of getting the headunit (mine is the 'professional' unit...much like the 'business' I think) to display MP3 track names/tags?

Buy a BMW Changer thats manufacturer after September 2005 and it will play MP3's.

Trust me, I've got them in two of our BMW's now. Works perfectly.
