Sounds like the water pump isnt working anymore! Happened to mine.Not a massively expensive change - get the cambelt done at the same time. Ensure the pump which is probably currently plastic is replaced with the uprated metal version.

As said, it sounds like the water pump(or the thermostat).

Are the top and bottom pipes to the radiator getting hot? And when it does get hot is the heater blowing hot air or cold?

Best thing to do is top up the coolant, start it up and look at the small return pipe that flows into the top of the coolant reservoir - it should have coolant flowing out of it. If you cant clearly see water returning to the reservoir then increase the revs slightly.

No coolant returning then it sounds to me like its probably the water pump.

(If im wrong someone will pop along and let you know)
