Bridgestone Potenza RE040
Discussion
My mate has a garage, I asked him to get me two front tires using his trade discount.
I have a 2006 WRX fitted with Potenza RE050s all round.
My mate got my two RE040s are these tires as good or better than the RE050?
Should i get them changed for RE050 tires to keep all tires the same?
Cheers for advice

Stick with RE050's. The Mazda RX8 is fitted with RE040's from the factory, but in the RX8 community the RE050 tyre is regarded as a much better tyre and has a higher dealer price. RE040's are slippy in the wet and don't offer the same amount of road holding generally as the RE050's do. Can be a matter of opinion, driving style and not consistant across all marque's, but the vast majority of RX8 owners choose RE050's as a replacement tyre.
