Ok, now Im on a quest to find out where they do this?!

Ive seen the photos which are nothing less than breathtaking and now Ive just seen a feature on Calendar news about photographers going up a hill in Wales and photographing low flying military jet fighters while training

Does anyone know where this is done as I would very much like to have the oppertunity to go and try snap some of the action

Ta muchly

I am told by a collegue that the Bala valley - Machynlleth is know as the Machy loop.
Some of the ridges and hillsides are easily acessable and its a common area for training, so activity most week days. he also suggests Shap.
Hope that helps.

Ooooh.... I might have to do this myself. I wonder if my 200mm lens is going to be long enough though? Sounds like I need 300mm from reading up, but it might be worth a day out just to find out.

lowfly.net, looks like all the info you need
ITV Wales article
Some excellent pics

As had been said - the Mach loop. Lowfly has maps and directions to most of the viewing points.

Stopped near Tallylyn lake for half an hour on the way to our hols and snapped these. Not bad for a 300mm lens - but you certainly get lens envy when you see what others have up the hill.

Mostly Hawks through there - but a few tasties come that way also.

Wear something warm!
