Blimeygames have a new games in the works called 'Kart Attack', which is an awful name for a sim, I was expecting rocket launchers and machine guns, but all in all, looks pretty decent and will be available for download on PSN, XboxLive and PC sometime in the future. However, of all the kart games I've played, the handling is usually quite twitchy due to it's wheelbase, so I'm wondering what these guys will do to make the game more accessible. Anyway, now some pics...

Unfortunately it doesn't look like they've used any real Kart Circuits as usual. I'd love a simulation of some of the UK Kart circuits. There are a few real circuits available for the Karts on Rfactor, but sadly none that I know from reality, although there is apparently a UK track pack in progress so hopefully that will have some.

That game does look very good though, hopefully my system can run it.

Any 3d artists/coders on here interested in making a UK kart game? using uk tracks :-)

Have the tools needed, engine etc and hi-end software

I'm looking at this for 2008 and just putting the feelers out

Thanks

That would be awesome having UK tracks (especially Warden Law my local circuit). Although I can't code and I'm not a 3d artist, I suppose it's easier to use fictional circuits, although I do rember a game that had PFI and Buckmore, I think it was called Super 1 karting or something like that.

Good Luck with the project.

Hi Paul

That's a shame

Regards making tracks! I could knock up Whilton in a week and have it looking like the above within a couple of weeks, the tricky part
it getting the code right for the way karts drive etc, my aim is just to get some tracks into the engine with basic code and take it from there, I know some top coders but as you can guess they are busy busy, I think it would be a hit with karters wanting to mess with VR tracks :-)

I'm hoping we can rip the GPS data out the new Mychron4 GPS unit and maybe use this instead of building of models by hand or at least get a basic start, goggle earth is also rather usful, but it's gonna be photos and sweat I think :-)

Many ways to skin cat etc.

Hi SKR
What your proposing sounds great.
I've tried all the kart driving games and IMO none of them have managed to simulate the feel of driving a kart (most of them felt like you were floating over the tarmac, you couldn't feel what the tyres were doing)
As you say this is the tricky part, but being a racer yourself, I hope you can crack it.
I see you race ICC, I have watched them and they look amazing to drive, how do you think they compare to ICE 250 Rotax which is what I started out in.
