just to follow up, the smoke that was seen also contains a high proportion of fuel ... usually ignited when comming down from high revvs giving the patented Afterburner effect

As I've always said, the thing that spoils the 400SE is that daft fake under-spoiler. They should have left it as the 390s: at least then it LOOKS like it does something... :fightfightfight:

I actually like the under spoiler. Gives the car a more finished look IMHO.
Dont like the way it was just left on the 350 / SEAC, and on some 390's it has holes in

Hmmm... I haven't seen a 390 with holes in - apart from the exhaust outlet, and some had one of those (like mine), some had two (IMHO looks better).
My point was just that as the 'wing' hangs below the 390, at least it looks like it can do something, even if we know it was just for show! On the 400, I agree that the shell looks more of a unit, with fewer joints etc. (and more aggressive), but it's then obvious that the 'wing' can't possibly do anything as no air can pass over it other than for about 6" each end. Maybe the closest TVR ever got to 'bling'?

alternativly, it features a 10 foot piece of wood gaffa taped to the rear spoiler, and camcorder taped to that !
